Posted on Monday 3 August 2009

Naveen Jain is the founder, president as well as the chief executive officer of Intelius, an information-based business that performs online background checks, people lookups and verification assistance. These products and services offered by Jain’s company help consumers and individual clients come up with intelligent decisions and secure themselves from cases of identity theft.

Since it is one of the fastest developing companies in North America, Intelius has strengthened its acquisitions so as to further develop its services. One of the recent acquisitions of the company is Spock, a people search engine.

With the many success of the company under Naveen Jain’s leadership, it has earned him recognition as an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist and an Albert Einstein Technology Medal. In 2000, according to Forbes Magazine, he was also considered as one of the 400 richest individuals in America, with a net worth of $2.2 billion.

Jain would not have been able to achieve such recognition if it were not for his departure from his native country to shape his career in the United States. Back in India, Naveen Jain attended the Indian Institute of Technology in Roorkee majoring in Engineering. Jain received his M.B.A from St. Xavier’s School of Management, a Roman Catholic Christian school in Delhi, India. He was offered an opportunity to go abroad through a business exchange program and this marked the start of his new career in the US.

Part of the reason for his growing success is his persistent determination and hard work. Naveen Jain had to go through so much before establishing an accomplished company.

Between 1989 and 1996, he was under Bill Gates’ Microsoft Corporation, working on the company’s operating system platform, promoting Windows NT and releasing the Microsoft Network (MSN). After departing from Microsoft in 1996, Naveen Jain formed his first company called InfoSpace, an online-based content supplier. Following his resignation from the company, he set out to develop Intelius in 2003. Because of his company’s impressive and quality products and services, it has been winning several honors such as the 2006 American Business Awards’ Best New Company. Jain’s Intellius was also a finalist for Most Innovative Company at The Stevies (also known as the American Business Awards).
